US Naval Observatory, Washington, DC This renovation transformed a 39,000 SF, World War II frame and timber warehouse into a dignified office building for the Federal Aviation Administration and U.S. Naval Observatory. The project offered many challenges including asbestos and lead abatement, providing adequate large office ceiling height and mechanical service within limited floor to floor heights. The new building includes offices, computer room, display room, gym, aerobics and locker area, and a small auditorium.
